It’s Like This Cat…

Owning a free-range cat is like dating someone who’s always “out of town for work.”
Unreliable, unpredictable, but somehow still irresistible.

I usually only catch snapshots of neighborhood dogs — leashed, predictable, dragged through their daily routines like clockwork. But this guy? This feline freelancer of the Burgh? He’s got a motorcycle, a fire hydrant, and a Toyota Tacoma in his orbit, and he still looks at me like I’m the intruder.

One minute he’s soaking up sun like a street philosopher, the next he’s vanished — maybe into that cardboard box, maybe off to his next secret rendezvous.

Free-range cats are the original Houdinis. Here one minute, gone the next. Mysterious, smug, and always a little bit late to dinner.

And still… we love ‘em.
